CANCELLATION NORTH WALES CROSS COUNTRY LEAGUE FOX HILLS / REMAINDER OF SEASON PLANS

Unfortunately, due to the Welsh Government, we are still not in a position to confirm that we can go ahead with the planned North Wales Cross Country League at Fox Hills on 22nd January and have therefore taken the decision to cancel it.

However, I can confirm that the Senior North Wales Cross Country League will go ahead at Oswestry as planned on Saturday 5th February as planned.

However, due to the cancelled/postponed North Wales League/Championship races we are proposing the following:

A Junior Cross Country League race will be held on 19th February at Eirias Park (LL29 7SP). As usual the first race will be the Under 15 Boys at 10-30am. Further details available from Bernie-Jones@sky.com

The cancelled/postponed North Wales Cross Country Championships will be rescheduled for Wrexham in March 5th. This will also double up as a North Wales Cross Country League as well. This will mean that for both the senior and junior cross country leagues athletes will have to score in 3 out of 4 races to count in the individual standings. Similarly athletes competing in the junior cross country league will have to compete in 3 out of the 4 fixtures to earn a participation medal.

North Wales eligible senior athletes who want to count in the Championships for their team and themselves will need to enter. Entry forms are via the following link: http://www.northwalesxc.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/NWCCA-Champs-Entry-Form-2022.doc You can e mail Dave Peters your entry and pay on the day (Jillanddave70@gmail.com)

Finally teams for the CAU Inter Counties Cross Country will be picked based on cross country performances and recommendations from clubs/coaches. If you are interested in competing in the CAU Inter Counties at Loughborough on 12 March please let me know asap. Bernie-jones@sky.com or 07919043117

Whilst we are delighted to be back, we are aware of the increase in the number of Covid cases across North Wales and Cheshire. As a league we ask that if any athlete or volunteer has a positive case in their household and they are isolating, or if they are experiencing any Covid like symptoms that they do not attend the races. THANK YOU

Details of both the junior and senior leagues and the North Wales Cross Country Championships are in Fixtures: Senior Fixtures – North Wales Cross Country League (northwalesxc.com)+
